if you have a band with good chemistry, good songs and fortunately a good crowd; there's nothing better than playing live! I really miss it alot, always loved it so much! It's the best thing :xx:

no, absolutely nobody else feels that playing live is a little overrated.

how does it feel to be completely and utterly alone in your wrong opinion? is it the same kind of feeling you get when you sit at home being relieved that you're not participating in society? are you warm right now. these are important ideas, please respond.

damn straight!
I really miss it a lot
I miss playing live with various styles.

Like I haven't done any funk gigs for ages (both original & covers).

That band, when the crowd was dancing and (hot chicks) just going off & I'm laying down the 1 - it was so awesome.

Also miss playing jazz-funk.

At my debut metal band gig last week, by coincidence, my old band mate from my first band (jazz-funk) was gigging downstairs in the pub (and I was upstairs in the main band room).

After my metal set, I sat in for 3 songs with him & it was so good to play some jazz-funk and blues/swing again.

Mainly because of the chemistry between me & him. He went to high-school together so there's that connection of playing since we were 14.

So that was awesome. But what I hate is the fans of the jazz-funk & blues scene.

Also, I am not warm right now. It's fucking -10f outside and my heat isn't working. The apartment is current at 50f and dropping. Apparently, the maintenance hard-on bearer is too cool to answer pages on a Sunday. :ra:

you either get the real jazz snobs who go "oh it's too bluesy & funky and not jazzy enough" (our guitarist was a bluesy jazz player, say like Scofield) or you get the blues-rock heads (bikers with VB shirts) who walk up to you & say "play some fuckin blue rock!" or "what's this jazzy poofter shit?!"

They want that heavy blue like SRV (but I like SRV) or those annoying rock blues bands that play the same "der nah-nah, nah-nah, nah-nah" over & over - like "Roadhouse Blues" over & over.

We couldn't win - we were too jazzy for the blues scene & too bluesy for the jazz scene...

Not in a band but I love seeing a band live. Its just a different overall experience to see a band play live. Of course some bands are boring to see.

Craig Ferguson is funny, especially when he has a good guest he plays off of like Hugh Laurie, Ewan MacGregor, or Kristen Bell.

The album should be great that is most important, because it can be heard more than seeing the band perform.

Seeing a band live can be great, but nowadays in the Netherlands, crowdresponses are often lame so the old atmosphere is often gone anyway.
