25 euros per hour (excl. 19% VAT), but it depends, label deadline, etc.

Perhaps we can arrange things. :grimsanta: I'm a starter in this branche as freelancer, so I'm not at the top of the price classes yet ofcourse. I'm a last years Master degree student, so I can fluctuate a little bit with prices. That's going to be different when I'm done with school. I'll have to make a living out of it then, and when I'm going to mix or record at Excess Studios in Rotterdam, I'll have to hire their studio and equipment, which costs 200 euros a day. For me, to get something out of this, I need to stick with my normal rates.

Ofcourse, when I mix at home, it's free for me, but I won't have the ability to work with analog outboard or mix in a "perfect"-(or atleast well measured) -acoustically built room such as the mixing studio at Excess - that doesn't mean it's an automatic compromise to the final result.

Room acoustics are very important. of course, if one is so good at mixing or mastering for that matter, they could intelligently compensate for what they hear, how and what they know of the room, and finally how it all affects processing and overall perception of a given track. I'd say for ease of work flow and productivity and taking guess work out, room acoustics is #1 priority. Hey Void if you ever need a mastering service to collaborate with for clients, drop me a line. :bang:

This is absolutely true, but there's an old saying among engineers that goes: "The most important thing to buy first, are high quality speakers. The second, is a good reverb." :redneck:

Speakers are indeed the most important together with room acoustics, and getting to know your monitors even moreso.

Thanks for the offer! I'll keep it in mind. :grimsanta:

Hey Vahmpy, I'm glad you have started doing biz. :bang:

I myself am also finishing my first full album mix for a band (did all the tracking too); 'till now it was mainly single songs and demos. It's similar to you in a sense that I too have a cooperation with a studio for tracking purposes, but mixing at home mostly. I have a fellating lover as a colleague tho, we're some sort of a duo :redneck: .

Cool web site you have there.

Keep it up!
