love me some suede, i've been jamming the shit out of dog man star lately. haven't got around to coming up really, i think i listened to it once last year but i didn't really give it too much attention. that'll be my goal for this week

they're gonna be playing the album in full on their euro tour later this year. there's a stop in amsterdam!

ok coming up has some bangers, it's a rather simple album compared to the rest of theirs i've listened to but it mostly works. trash is mega fun

Coming Up was a big thing for me back in the day. Obviously Trash and Beautiful Ones were huge radio hits over here so everyone bought the album. Suede pretty much introduced Britpop to the masses, even though they were later surpassed by Oasis and Blur (who I both love dearly I might add).
Good call on this thread guys, Britpop doesn’t get the credit it deserves around these parts :judge:

suede pretty much invented what became the gloryhole era britpop sound, then disavowed it and then said fuck it and cashed in

still haven't listened to the full run of their original albums before they reformed but i can't see any of the later ones topping dog man star

I figured as much :santa: i believe only Oasis made some sort of impact in the US back then, the others were strickly a euro phenomenon.

blur got a decent bit of airplay here in their time too, though in terms of popularity or commercial impact nowhere near oasis' level of course

have you dudes listened to any of suede's albums from after they reformed? i'm quite fond of night thoughts & blue hour, and i'm about to throw on bloodsports for the first time

hmm i don't remember bloodsports at all, but i think my last post in this thread was right at the beginning of that whole being drunk for two months straight block of time in the early days of the pandemic :redneck:

i think they just put a new one out pretty recently that didn't do much for me however :oldryan:
