Nachtmystium - Addicts: Black Meddle Pt 2

Post by Tyreese BIGGUMS »
Led by mastermind Blake Judd (above, center), the official city of the chicago cubs-based psych black metal act NACHTMYSTIUM are currently recording with Sanford Parker (Minsk) at Volume Studios. For the much anticipated Assassins Part II, they have enlisted the talents of Wrest (Leviathan, Lurker of Chalice, Twilight) to record all drum tracks, as well as Will Lindsay (Wolves in the Throne Room, Middian) on bass.

NACHTMYSTIUM kicks off their 2010 touring cycle by joining up with German thrash legends Kreator so head over to <!-- m -->http://www.myspace.com/nachtmystium<!-- m --> to view their complete touring itinerary.

Judd further describes his excitement over this upcoming album: “Our love for post rock and industrial (a la Ministry, Killing Joke, etc) is even more present this time around. We’re hoping to make a record that will continue to push extreme music into uncharted territories. We hope to see you all soon.”
I can't wait for this. I love everything they've done since "Demise" and this should not disappoint - especially with Wrest at the helm for drumming. Though I'm wondering why Lindsay is recording bass, unless Jon Necromancer is only a session/tour bassist

in an interview I just watched with blake, he said the album's called "Addicts" and that it's "more of a rock record." I'm guessing the simpler song structures of things like "Ghosts of Grace" will be present with more of a punk/post-rock influence. but you never know with blake really, he's quite an eccentric person (having met him before as well as seeing various interviews with him)

just cant wait to hear it and hopefully see them headline a tour.

Psychedelic black metal outfit NACHTMYSTIUM have announced that their anticipated new full-length album, Addicts: Black Meddle Pt. II, is set for a June 8th release through Century Media. The disc was recorded once again with Sanford Parker (Minsk) at Volume Studios. They have enlisted the talents of Wrest (Leviathan, Lurker of Chalice, Twilight) to record all drum tracks as well as Will Lindsay (Wolves in the Throne Room, Middian) on bass.

NACHTMYSTIUM mastermind Blake Judd comments: “Our love for post rock and industrial (a la Ministry, Killing Joke, etc) is even more present this time around. We feel that we made a record that will continue to push extreme music into uncharted territories. We hope to see you all soon.”

There will also be a limited edition, double gatefold vinyl featuring the bonus track “Macrocosmic” and an iTunes exclusive bonus track featuring “Every Last Drop” remixed by James Plotkin (Khanate, Phantomsmasher). Artwork was done by Jimmy Hubbard and Seldon Hunt and the album features guest vocals by Bruce Lamont (Yakuza) and guitar solos by Russ Strahan (Pentagram) and Matt Johnson (Pharoh).

The band kicked off their 2010 touring cycle by joining up with German thrash legends Kreator and will be touring the U.S. with EyeHateGod this June. Check <!-- m -->http://www.myspace.com/nachtmystium<!-- m --> for tour dates and information.
