since we're talking about ibanez now, i actually really want one of the 25th anniversary RG's. it's not quite a 550 (rosewood board, sharktooth inlays, color-matched pickup covers, etc.) and it would probably be a downgrade from my 570 in most respects, but there's something about the hideous neon yellow color that i find really endearing
This made me think about that red/pink-ish RG770DX a mate was selling a while back. It's quite old and has its share of battle scars and he was selling it at a very low price (around the equivalent of $238 USD) and I almost bought it.
I held back the last minute cause I thought no matter how you look at it with the original Wizard neck and all, you still have to put up with a tremolo.
wow... i would've snapped it up for that price in a heartbeat. it would be around 20 years old now if it's an original model, as those were only made for a couple of years in the early gloryhole era . trem's can be a pain to deal with, but the high-end RG's are well worth the hassle.
at the very least you probably could've doubled your money on it so long as its problems were cosmetic.
