I saw them live in 2008 with Dimmu Borgir. Was really a cool viking drunk show :bang: :bang: :bang: :grimb:

I saw them with entombed in November. I was sober and on my own, but i enjoyed the fuck out of it anyway. They seem like cool blokes, even if the dude butchered the guitar solo in twilight of the thundergod. :oldryan:

Did he actually try to play it the way Roope played it? I always figured they'd just do something else.

His attempt was similar, but watered down and poorly executed to boot.

I remember him saying something about how The Burning Pits Of The Duat wouldn't be that hard, or something. And he was invited to post an video. He did eventually post a preliminary version which was far from complete. I remeber asking him how his cover of it was coming along. Ask him that for me.

The only album from these fellows that I thought meh was Fate of Norns. The last two have really shown an effort to improve, though With Oden On Our Side was probably more enjoyable.

I've seen them at least 3 times live. Best live band out there, pretty much, at least in terms of how apefuck you go when they play. :xx:

I don't mind them, I haven't really given them a fair chance to be honest with you all.

There's not really a progression in sound, so you can start anywhere. The songwriting gets better, and the overall package is more polished as one progresses through the catalog. If I had to rank the albums based on my enjoyment, it would probably be:

With Oden On Our Side

Twilight of the Thundergod

Versus the World

The Crusher

Once Sent From the Golden Hall

The Avenger

Fate of Norns
