MABB v6.6.6

I've set up to pay for one of these from zzounds with the "play as you pay" deal. I've heard a lot of mixed reviews, mainly from people stating that it sounds way better going straight to the PA, and not through an amp. Here's where my question comes in, for any that have more experience with POD products than I do.



I'm not purchasing it for the amp modeling. It will be a plus for recording, but I'm primarily getting this as a cheaper and more convenient alternative to buying $800+ in analog pedals. I plan on putting it through my amp and using it nearly all the time for the pedal portion. Does this seem like a safe bet, or do you have alternatives I should consider?

Fuck your amp, sell it and get a decent valve poweramp, use the POD as a preamp and turn off the shitty cabinet emulation. This is what I've been doing and it sounds GREAT. Better than my old Engl Fireball by far and it's pretty damn versatile.



I couldn't be happier.

with recordings, there's nothing better than a good amp that communicates with your guitar perfectly (sound wise)... no amp simulation can get close to some real tubes, a good cabinet and a few good and well placed microphones.

My point is lonely in the corner as you keep missing it.



POD = my pedal board. Amp simulation turned off unless it can add to the sound. :lcok: this anyway, it's already been done.
