first guitar purchase in about 8 years trying to motivate myself to really get back into things

it's the dave davidson signature warrior 7 string. build quality is nice, pickups sound good. it's my first 7 string so it's kind of weird to play right now but so far so good
also i have two cats now

Once you get used to 'home base' (i.e. the string nearest you) being a B rather than an E, you'll be fine. I've been playing 7s since about '91 and they feel more natural to me than 6s most of the time now...

I too got a new axe and it's my first 7 string as well.

2009 Ibanez RG7321. It was an impulse buy earlier in the year and the duder was giving it up for USD $227. The stock pickups sounded like crap but the playability and simplicity is just awesome. I have since put EMGs in her.


Lately, I've been jamming with a drummer who really loves Brodequin, Disgorge and Condemned so that's where most of my free time is being spent lately. Also just ordered a Valeton FRFR speaker to go with my amp modeler and that should be arriving at the end of the month.
