It's taken about 6 months of struggle to get this epic bastard of a piece right, during which it has fought me every bloody step of the way. Not only is it pretty long, it has a huge dynamic range with some almost whisper-quiet sections and some huge crescendos; I'm painfully aware that it sounds desperately pretentious but I can't stop thinking of this in terms of it being effectively an orchestral suite, since it goes through so many moods and is in 7 distinct movements. Yes, yes, I know - delusions of grandeur.

I don't normally ask for this, but I would -really- appreciate hearing what people think of this piece of music, not in some ghastly fishing-for-compliments kind of way but because this piece has taken up so much of my headspace, and involved so much work, over so much time, that I'm intensely curious to see what reactions it evokes in people.
