So I currently use Guitar Rig 5 as my main guitar program. Now I just installed Superior Drummer 2.0 and I want to make some jams now. How does one go about that? I'm currently looking at the main viewport right now and I don't see anything that says starting a basic track to lay some beats onto.

What you have is just a VST/plugin. You need a DAW (Cubase, ProTools, Reaper) to build drum tracks or to drag and drop beats.

Reaper, best DAW ever.
You probably got the VST-plugin when you installed SD2.
