I'm thinking of a Big Muff, but they're made in the USA, so I may not save any $$$ by buying in Japan.

there is an Ibanez fuzz pedal, called the Ibanez Sound Tank 60s Fuzz. the jacks, pots, and case are crap, but the other components are very high quality. I bet you could find em used for like $15 USD. they're actually a big muff, which is funny because the muff came about in 1970, when I think of 60s fuzz, I think of a fuzz face.



importantly they sound huge and good!

I got the Hardwire Chorus in the mail today! totally and completely dig, everything about it sounds so warm and analog, great job by the people at Digitech

There are plenty of clones but a lot of them do not sound like the real thing.

A Rat II with the correct Chip (pre 2008) are easily obtainable second hand. The older ones without the LED are more expensive.

I'd recommend a VFE Alpha Dog if you want a good Rat, it has the correct chip to create vintage Rat awesomness, but it can go much further, even into fuzz territory, killer pedal

Well, hopefully without sounding too dramaqueen like: past november my girlfriend had a triple pulmonary embolism. Almost killed her. A few weeks later i had a acute attack of reumatism. My finger joints are damaged and guitar playing hurts. The medication i use works but my fingers feel very rigid. I still cannot play some of the material from the promo we recorded..

Damn, duder, that is one hell of a life event shitstorm. Is the lady recovering alright? Do you have any sort of physical therapy for your fingers?

She lost some lung capacity and is tired very quikly. She was forced to stop with her regular medication to prevent further blood clots so her body is in quite an upheavel.

There a several types of reumatism. One causes inflammation in the joints which can be suppressed by medication and physical therapy. The other causes adhesions which unfortunatly remain. Luckily it is not totally ruined and hopefully i can prevent further damage. My index fingers are slightly crooked, curving towards the middle fingers. Both my pinky's have the tendency to move a little sideways when i open my hands.

When playing fast runs, scales or sweeps my pinky slouches behind. Practice hurts and it is very discouraging when after an half an hour your fingers still ar not doing what they were used too. Shortly before this happened i got my new ironbird which i stll have not had the chance to fully use to it potential due to this. Very frustrating...

We had some label interest but since i am not able to play my own material to MY standards i am afraid to go public with it.

well, with that sort of amp, a Rat really won't give you much of a metal tone, you'd do better looking for a high gain distortion pedal, Boss Power Stack is a great one
