Monster Cables are shit, really
they always break eventually from simply unplugging and plugging in
honestly don't feel it's worth me even exchanging as part of that warranty thing

in 15 years of playing i have yet to find a brand or type of instrument cable that isn't utter garbage that winds up needing replacement within 6 months
and i'm gentle, too

i get mine made by my first music teacher in Year 7, who's other day gig is amp repairs etc .
He makes insanely strong cables. they've lasted me since I was 15 (over 15 years) and they've had chairs on top of them, tours, water, beer & up groupie's lady bits - they're still going strong.
going to get him to set up my FX board and wire it up with his uber patch leads next - always watching band mates having patch lead failures in their boards.

me too! all I ever do is plug in and unplug them, by holding the metal part
I'd be inclined to agree, but I've found a bag of cables I had in the closet, and this no-name cloth covered cable I have from about 10 years ago, this fucker still works, sounds just as good as Monster cable, maybe better

as with anything else they make, the benefits of monster over any other brand are completely illusory (nevermind the ultra-premium shit that sells for hundreds of dollars for a few feet, which isn't even distinguishable from the signal produced by a coathanger). i bought a guitar cable from them years ago thinking it looked a fair bit sturdier than the usual stuff i bought, but that was a no-go.

their marketing reminds me of that of Bose

eh, bose has its niche; their standalone systems and surround packages provide decent sound quality in stylish packaging for people who don't mind paying a little extra for something that sounds good-enough with minimal hassle. if you're strictly looking for sound quality you can obviously do much better for the same prices if you don't mind more complex setups and doing a little research.
product quality aside, their customer service is top-notch though

what's scary about Monster, is they've infiltrated consumer level electronics, with the same marketing ploy as the guitar cables
if you want to see some stuff to

about and giggle as well, look up "Monster cable law suits"
they've sued so many companies and such for the use of the word "monster"
