one of the coolest sort of fuzz pedals, but they're not very popular
which is silly, because lots of great guitarists have used or use a type of tone bender

there's three main types, MKI, MKII, and MK1.5
MKI and MKII are very similar circuits with 3 germanium transistors, plenty of gain to go around
MK1.5 is closer to a germanium fuzz face, with two germanium transistors, and better clean up ability, but less gain
so, if you're looking for a nice fuzz, but don't dig a fuzz face or a muff, a tone bender could be right for you, especially if you dig Kyuss and QOTSA
