Clones of famous pedals.

Post by Lavabug »

Doing some digging I came across this Asian brand Joyo, which makes true bypass exact clones of famous pedals like the TS808, fulltone OCD, and a bunch of other effects. On ebay they sell for 40$/30€ shipped anywhere in the world. Thought some people here would be interested, great way to try out good effects without spending a ton of money.

Due to unavailability of pedals in my country, i will soon be making a clone of HM-2.

Or I will buy a good amp and clone an ibanez tube screamer.

After all i am a science student.

There are several modded pedals going around in the local musical equipment trading circuit. I've seen pedals that are 'said' to replicate sounds of the likes of JCM800 and triple recto though of course I've yet to hear them.

those Biyang Chinese pedals are said to be rather good and are true bypass to boot, though I haven't tried any.

Biyang makes a lot of OEMs pedal for different brands which are exactly the same as their own branded ones. For example Guitar Fetish has a whole line of their pedals just spraypainted another color. Akai uses their pedals and several other "Boutique"builders just sell painted Byjang pedals for a lot of cash.

In europe both Musicstore Koeln and MusicProductiv have their (same) pedals as house-brands. Just a different name on the housing but identical.

I have a delay, eq, rat-clone and TS-clone from MP (Fame Sweetone branded but exactly the same as the Biyang tonefancier pedals). They are pretty cool.
