i discovered my good pair of headphones fucking snapped in half... no one in this fucking house will admit to anything. now i can't record with my interface.



anyway, i'm looking for a good pair of headphones for recording and for listening to music, i'd like to keep it it under $100.00

Sennheiser, AKG, Beyerdynamics... those are on the top of my list.

I need vacation!



I would go with Sennheiser as first choice.

My wireless Seinnheriser headphones are 5 years old and still rockin

They are not too bad, around $25 or so, but I have been loving my iFrogz earbud headphones, but I strictly listen to music, you may need something even better since you are a musician and make music. I got mine from WalMart.

Save up some shackles and buy yourself a pair of Audio-Technica ATHM50, really worth it. I know I will, as soon as my money allows.

Many pros use them for tweaking of bass department in their mixes, and because of their impedance, they don't require some elite class headphone amplifier in order to deliver. You could even use them without any amplifier for the exact same reason.



They'll pay off easily.

Those sound pretty interesting. I have to use headphones for my interface because I don't have monitors. I also like listening to music at night so I like to have a good sounding pair of headphones.



Have you ever used them? I'm reading some reviews and they seem pretty good.

Yeah, I tried them at local distributor's. 10 minutes spent totall tho cannot be any base for the final judgement, but I like the feeling .

They get rave reviews on many sites especially because of their quality-to-price ratio. Headphones are not enough for mixing, but if you have acoustically untreated room, even they are better than some okayish monitors. M50s provide pretty balanced sound picture frequency wise. Try them out if you get a chance, I think you'll like'em.

Maybe if you compare them to your average we-make-everything manufacturers, but they have many contestants in their price range (for each class) - AKG, Yamaha, Beyer,...



I myself am using a pair of Yamaha RH5MA. They are regarded as NS10 of the phones, so definitely not very suitable for casual every day music listening, but they do reveal many details when you make balancing through them.



This thread has reminded me how hard I am gasing for these AudioTechnicas. Godamn money

i'm the same. need new ones for my home studio.

i was going to get some studio Sony ones, but theyve been discontinued. in Oz they're about $300 but US was about $150. i tried to order, but of course - they dont ship here.



the shops here have about 5 pairs... fucking shit.



i SO miss the Japanese shops where u have 3 isles of headphones!



the only reason i need new ones is because my current ones have that shitty fake leather outing which is decaying and leaving black shit all over my head, clothes & desk etc...

the sony ones i've used in rec studios were nice leather ones.

the Sennheiser HD's are good. I have an AKG K141 Studio, it's a nice one. I'm very interested in that one Uros was talking about.

A fellating lover of mine have AKGs, they leak ALOT. The sound is good but they really leak way too much.

No, he just listens to music with them. He doesn't use them in a studio.

I've got a set of CX 300-II in ear ones which are fucking awesome. I've had them for a while, so I can't remember the exact price. I think they were around the £30 mark though.
