All Amfisound Rhoads that i've seen have small body. Alot smaller than Jackson originals.

i believe it's the original lopro edge, it's a '98 model so i know for certain it predates most of the edge variants anyway. the cavity that the right-hand (output/switch/knob side of the guitar) trem post is supposed to sit in is fucked up, the metal cylinder somehow ground out a bunch of wood from the cavity enough that it sits at an angle now. the result is that the right-hand post leans forward toward the neck and messes up the action pretty badly. at the 24th fret the high E is a full 1/4-inch (~6.5mm) over the fretboard, low E isn't quite as high but of course it jacks everything up in the higher frets.

anyway, i tore the thing down a couple years ago and messed around with dropping some wood shims in there somewhere, and that solved the problem temporarily at least. i don't know if it's worth it to just keep doing that when necessary, get the thing fixed, or just replace the whole guitar altogether.

i have a picture from the original tear-down, it's a really piss-poor quality close-up but maybe it'll give you a better idea of what i'm on about here.

if you look in the corner there, you can see some chipping/damage from where the bridge had originally dug into the body because it was leaned forward so severely.

That s u c k s.... I've heard of some basswood bodys doing that. The wood is soft and eventually the studs get loose. I guess the proper way to fix it is to clean out the hole, widen it a bit more, glue in a new piece of wood and dril a new hole for the stud. I've had the same problem with my Ironbird. Both studs had become loose. But in my case i guess the holes were drilled a bit to wide. I fixxed it by buying another pair of studs witn a wide base diameter. Actally drilled out the holes a bit more for them to fit, and it works like charm now.

unfortunately it won't be in that color, from what i can tell they only seem to offer the white 1451 in europe. the US only has black and grey, it's a damn shame.

Is this the one you were talking about? That thing looks a beauty! Lawrence headsotck (I think it's called that?) looks great as the head of a 7-stringer.

Who made this one for you? Some Dutch hard-on bearer?

Yes a Dutch Luthier named Sjak Zwier. I made a 1/1 scale drawing of it. I used the ESP shape with some little differences and adapted the Lawrence headstock to the 7 string spacing and that extra tuner. Its made of swamp-ash, set maple neck with rosewood board, blaze and air-norton pups, and Ibby LoProEdge trem.

@ Zim: so far i have sold my Gib V and Gib explorer. I am in the process of selling my Les Paul 7. And i am thinking of selling one of my uni's.. Though i'm not really sure of that.

The 7 string explorer was completely financed by selling my Rickenbacker bass, an ironbird and an ES 335 clone. It was ordered before i got fired so luckily i did not have to finance it out of my savings..

This guitar is completely hand made to fit my hands. I was present when he shaped the neck. We spend a good 3 hours fitting, testing, and sanding until it felt right. He had some wood left from the same stock so i sold the two Gibsons to get a brother for the explorer. Same specs different shape.

I hate the placement of the neck pickup volume knob on my guitar, it's placed directly under my bridge pickup so it's really easy to accidentally turn it all the way down while playing

i need to learn the wiring and find a soldering gun :light:

Soldering seems to be easy to learn but hard to master. I did all the soldering on one of my guitars which was eventually used for a studio recording. Because of my limited understanding of soldering, it turned out that I was only getting something like 40% of the output from my bridge pickup. Being as it was an X2N, I'd never noticed before

That 40 % usage could have been of a bad volume pot. When I had the X2N on one of the geets I had to change the volume pots too to really make her sing. If I remeber right it requires 500k pots.

I may have had the same issue with my LTD V from back in the day. I wish I'd had the presence of mind to keep the X2N and switch the pickup back to the original duncan when I sold it.
