when i was a little angsty teen listening to marilyn manson i heard a really cool bass line from twiggy and that made me want to play bass
my brother told me i should get a guitar instead and i eventually got into metallica and megadeth and all those guitarists made me want to be able to play like them
Definitely Metallica as they were my first love ever in the entirety of music itself. I personally still get chills whenever I listen to Enter Sandman or Master of Puppets, no matter how 'overplayed' they may be to the tr00 and kvlt metalheads as I always think "Man, where would I be without these songs". I definitely learned my chops from Metallica. Other notable influences for me are Slayer, Sepultura, Testament, Pantera, and Megadeth.
When I was a lad, it was definitely Jimmy Page and Bob Dylan. When I actually began to play at 15, it was Thurston Moore. I wouldn't be that inspired again until I discovered Trey Azagthoth and again upon hearing Ihsahn and Samoth.
