strat came today like it was supposed to!
dig dig dig a lot, even stock it sounds sweet, I'm so going to do that tone mod in the next couple of days though
no surprise, it loves fuzz

forgot to mention, it is a little noisy when not playing, if I use a fuzz pedal. but this is to be expected with single coils, the tone is more than enough to make up for it! can kill the hum if I blend the bridge or neck with the middle, but I dig the sound of the bridge pickup raw

I had a white strat with maple neck and a kahler trem once. No freaking idea why I sold it, was pretty cool.

installed the bone nut yesterday, it was preslotted
only about a half hour of sanding and filing, then using a knife to cut the slots deeper
I notice a big difference in tuning stability, and a subtle (but nice) difference in tone
highly recommend for anyone with a strat, can get a pre-slotted bone nut for less than $9. it's already cut to close to the fretboard radius too

what do you all think about Dimarzio Injector pickup for bridge?
they're basically Paul Gilbert signature pickups
they're noisless, apparently maintain a true single coil sound, but while having moderately high output (for single coils) and tight response
I'm actually enjoying the stock pickups, especially after that simple bridge tone control mod, way better than I expected one you get the perfect height and angle. but it'd be nice to have a noiseless in the bridge, the other two are perfectly fine how they are for me

since I got this guitar, I've had no desire to use humbucker equipped guitars
