I'm more of an ST/Killers hard-on bearer but this is the maiden record that gets the most listens nowadays for the I.

I think they realized great classic metal stuff from 1980 to 1985......the rest is ok, but mmmm, not my kind.
I am listening "somewhere in time" right now..... I think they started to go into a sperimental-melodic stuff after "Live after death"....

yeah, the first two albums had more a raw and hard rock genuine style. But anyway, Paul Di Anno burned his carrier in few time.
Now he is just a fat asshole, unable to sing a song. He played in a town around here, the audience was made by about 80 people and he was drunk.
Bruce Dickinson is not a voice that I really like, but anyway, he had a maginficent carrier. (and he is a awesome singer and showman)
I still prefer priest and sabbath than maiden, but anyway maiden was and is a great band too.

He has admitted it for a long time, When Maiden started to play bigger venues he just couldn't handle the pressure it brought. And that has happened few times after that also. He is the most happiest to play in smaller pubs.

I don't get how anybody can like D'Ianno, or that other bloke, over Dickinson.

I'm going to be in a very small minority, and say Dance of Death was my favorite album. Powerslave was probably the most complete Iron Maiden album, but Dance of Death is more enjoyable to me.

DoD was a very good album, but i wouldn't put it in my top 3 maiden albums.
Skinner, did you listen to them in the 80's? my first exposure to them was early 80's when Piece of Mind came out. growing up listening to them does something to a person. it's hard to explain, but i can't be unhappy listening to maiden. maybe if i had been exposed to them a decade or more later, i wouldn't like them, i dunno. Maybe I'm just sentimental. I still say maiden was the best live show ever!

This shows my age, but my first exposure to Iron Maiden was Brave New World. I am kind of partial to that and Dance of Death as a result. I remember watching the video for "Wicker Man" on MTV and VH1.
I'm glad I was exposed in some way. I've been able to listen to those older albums, as well as Bruce Dickinson's solo stuff. I'm a fan.

My very first Maiden exposure was when 'From Here To Eternity' was featured on Beavis And Butt-Head. That song and its corresponding album title track got me into Maiden.
