he is far groovier than R, happier to play simpler beats and with more pizazz

Derek is a cool drummer but I love Kevin's energy, he gives every song he plays 200%

There was a video of him doing I, Monarch, but I think they removed it shortly after that US tour. Basically he pretty much nailed the song except the intro tom/hat pattern (which is amazing considering the short notice he had, I think they rehearsed for like 3 days or something then went on tour.)

I'm not a drummer and probably don't know what i'm talking about... now he's obviously 'good' but his blast style seems, I dunno... 'wrong'? Like he's flailing his limbs to much, kinda like a guitarist who uses his entire arm instead of wrist?



Also, I remember watching some footage of him being a total douche to some asian fans or people on the street or something?

I agree, and I'm the same, not a drummer, but I play with many awesome drummers of many genres & love watching drumming videos.

but i guess if he does the job, that's all that matters (he's kinda like Dave Grohl, his posture & tech are horrible but he's awesome).

oh yes, that's right...

I really liked how Kevin put some nice groove into that HE song

I love the way how Derek is putting some heaviness into the blastbeating, with the cymbals. like RATATATATATATATATATATATATA but still "one...to...three...four". You can still hear that the BEAT is going on. To me Kevin is just "RATATATATATATATATATATATATATATA".
