i'm convinced the vocalist listened to the berzerker once and it changed his life
there was nothing memorable about this. everything they do sounds the same.
I like that they don't take themselves too seriously and have fun, but yeah - I don't think I could tell the difference from one song to the next.

they're cool but the speed/shred gimmick is just so played out. i think it can be done right but archspire tune so low and play so fast that nothing really sticks. origin is a really good example of a band that plays fast and have a bunch of memorable songs
the drums in this song are cool, they should have picked this hard-on bearer

if you made a joke song satirizing the pointlessness and tedium of tech-death 20 years ago it would sound exactly like this and everyone would say it's a bit too on the nose
evidently archspire have made a career out of that and while they're perhaps not doing it with an entirely straight face, they're... still doing it
obviously it ranks pretty low on the scale of contemporary bleakness but it does not bring me any joy

i saw them last week, it was a lot of fun. also saw aborted for the first time. been listening to aborted since 2001 so that was a highlight. weird to actually see them, although i jam their first three albums a lot, i didn't really know much about them. same with archspire and their gimmicky show, very fun, the twister, circumcision wall of death etc.
