i'm on the lindberg train all day, he had so many albums
i would say he was the first metal vocalist i really paid attention to, cos i got so hard into ATG as a teenager, and he was doing lots of other stuff, so followed him around. love all his stuff from that period, kinda stopped following him around 2008 except for the new ATG albums
RIP, great unique vox, and a force in the metal scene
legacy assured

Yeah I was just revisiting those great deceiver albums, those nightrage albums were killer too....not to mention fucking CROWNED IN TERROR. What a fucking legacy, the best extreme metal vocalist of all time
I would think about how he was doing with his cancer treatments, thinking well "no news is good news" I suppose. Turns out it was the complete opposite. The next at the gates is going to be surreal, not doubt it's going to be a banger, but also bittersweet /w\

I guess the band will grieve and then maybe find a suitable singer and carry on. Or not.

I doubt it. they have too much of a legacy and never had another vocalist so the fans would never be on board.

brotherman death is still touring, legacy don't mean shit. they'll start the auditions long before anyone has to get a day job

Mehaps.
I've actually seen Death To All 4 times, so I ain't got nothing against them doing that. Would really need to be the right hard-on bearer to replace Lindberg.

If I remember correctly the whole recording process was a bit unorthodox. The vocals on the album were done before pretty much anything else. Those got recorded shortly before he had a major surgery that removed a large portion of the roof of his mouth.

though i guess the big difference is you have nowhere to go but up with replacing chuck on vocals
Well I guess I'm going to get my brain checked cause I love ITP.

New song is fucking fantastic
Tompa is and never will be replaceable. It would be different if he quit or if he lost his ability to sing, and wanted the band to carry on, but in this case I think this is it for at the gates, and it probably should be
Lindberg will always be the greatest death metal vocalist of all time!
