At long last, a new album by The Lemonheads is on its way. Evan Dando has announced Love Chant, the band’s first album in 19 years, is out this October via Fire Records.
The Lemonheads’ last album of original material was their self-titled eighth record, released in 2006. They followed it up with the single “Fear of Living” in 2023, though it’s uncertain if the track will appear on Love Chant. “I’m really excited about our new record Love Chant coming out on FIRE. I have a feeling people are really gonna enjoy it,” Dando says. “It was made with Love, Fire and Chanting. It will be out fall 2025.” Dando also promised that they will be “peppering the airwaves” with songs from Love Chant beginning May 14th.
Before the album’s release, the Boston band will hit the road to mostly tour Australia and New Zealand, as well as festival slots in the UK and Spain. In Australia, the band will play albums It’s a Shame About Ray and Come On Feel the Lemonheads in their entirety
Though delayed from its original 2022 release, Dando announced last December that his memoir, Rumours Of My Demise, is out May 1st. Along with this, he revealed to The Independent he has been sober for two years, minus LSD, after struggling with addiction throughout his entire life and career. The frontman, now 57, also made a move to Brazil and got engaged
