The lineup is out for the 2025 edition of the annual ‘Sick New World‘ festival. While previous incarnations have seen the event headlined by Armenian-American nü-metal stars System Of A Down, next year’s edition will see Metallica and Linkin Park take the top billing. A surprising addition a bit further down the bill is the live return of Acid Bath, who previously broke up back in 1997.

The roster for the event, which will be held April 12th at the Las Vegas Festival Grounds in Las Vegas, NV, will run as follows:

Just a cursory glance around the interwebs it looks like Jimmy left the music industry a long time ago.

Yeah it’s a bummer jimmy isn’t onboard. Ahh well.

i'm guessing/hoping this will evolve into a reunion tour, i'd definitely go without hesitation. this festival is the most unhinged lineup i've seen in recent memory though, really just kinda throwing everything at the wall. and ND looking like they got stuck with a 10am warmup act feels like an enormous snub compared to a shitload of the rest of the metal representatives on the bill.

With this show alone dax, sammy, and Mike are probably all walking away with atleast 30 grand a piece

are festivals really that lucrative for the bands? that sounds extraordinarily generous for a not-close-to-headlining act, but i also don't have the first clue about the economics of music festivals. i guess i've always assumed everyone but the promoters/venues gets fucked

No, that is highly improbable.
The band + crew might walk away with $30k total if that is what was offered. That’s not unheard of. That would also cover all transportation (them plus gear) and accommodations as well.

I would be shocked if they aren’t also playing Milwaukee Metal Fest and Maryland Death Fest next year, not to mention the obligatory NOLA show. Wouldn’t be surprised at all if they do a full tour, but who knows.

They got announced for sonic temple fest in Ohio next year.

Hoping they record something down the line.

It was some cool banter, but i was hoping they would have touched on why jimmy Kyle isn't Involved, my guess is he may not have the chops for it anymore, but cool to hear dax, Mike, And sammy are sounding great together again

Seems like they've got more dates and shit to announce based on how quick Sammy shut that talking point down.

It'll be interesting to see if this leads to any new music regardless of if they do it under acid bath or a different name.

Rumor is that the promoters didn’t charge enough for tickets with Metallica on the bill to cover the guarantees of most of the other bands, just didn’t add up even with sponsors and the probability of the event selling out.

I would like these DWP fests better if they pro shot a lot of the sets and put them online like a lot of euro feats do.

Yeeeeeah. The passes sell out insanely quick, usually before the full lineups are even announced. So you are stuck buying individual day tickets/passes for each venue. Right now the only thing left is for the market place & power planet stages. That's $200 for the 3 day pass. If I remember a 3 day pass for all 3 venues was in the neighborhood of $550.

Out of all the bands there's like 11 I really want to see. But 2 that I specifically thought about shelling out for just that venue on that day. Gutalax who never play the states and are a goofy ass good time. The other is Orange Goblin who are calling quits at the end of this year. One of my favorite bands and they barely toured the states before this. I'm really hoping they add a few dates around this festival that I can try and make.

I'm calling it now, there WILL be new acid bath music. Maybe not an album, but possibly some reworked songs from the 3rd album they were working on

India invading us, and then getting their ass whooped in return, and Acid Bath playing to a crowd of 40,000 in the same week, was certainly not on my bingo card. What a timeline.
