I'm pretty sure you're the one who introduced me to perturbator, and synthwave as a whole. I heard dearh of the soul on this board. I went and bought a good Roland keyboard shortly thereafter.
In 2024 I am looking forward to Earthburner, Kill Division and Narcotic Wasteland. Vltimas is my favorite album this year so far.

I didn't care much for the new Nile. Just finished listening. True Gods of the Desert and the closing instrumental are solid, but that's about it, really. It's not as bad as Sethu and the one after, but it's a far cry from those first four to five albums.
Horrible mixing and vocals as well, to boot, but that's a Nile thing nowadays.

The two slower, mid-paced tracks I mentioned are good. I've been enjoying them. It's just everything else that falls really flat.
And there are.....too many vocals. They don't shut the fuck up for a bit...and neither does Kollias.

"All Gates Open: In Search of Absolute Elsewhere” tells the story of Blood Incantation’s time in Berlin during the summer of 2023, recording “Absolute Elsewhere” at the legendary Hansa Studios. The 73-minute feature film will be available October 4th on Blu-Ray with the album’s deluxe mediabook package. This very special edition also includes the documentary’s original soundtrack “All Gates Open (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)”, Blood Incantation’s previously released maxi-single, “Luminescent Bridge” for the first time ever on CD, and of course, “Absolute Elsewhere” in both standard and Dolby Atmos / 5.1 mixes. The book itself includes 55 pages of exclusive liner notes, extensive interviews, behind the scenes photos and forward by Ross Dolan (Immolation).

I want this.

are these guys actually interesting enough to warrant a 73 minute documentary and 55 pages of words. my feeling is no they are not

i never had any interest in blood incantation, they lean too hard into old school death metal worship and have no identity of their own

everyone's always doing this to me specifically
they do owe me a t-shirt though and i think that soured me on them more than anything
can't find anything official but i am hearing godspeed is out october 4th and i am very much looking forward to it
That means pre-orders should drop soon . Unless they are just gonna throw it up on the release date, which wouldn't surprise me at all with this band.
I am still eyeballing those November dates to see if I can make one.

THE PLAIN TRUTH==
we drifted through it, arguing.
every day a new war crime, every day a flower bloom.
we sat down together and wrote it in one room,
and then sat down in a different room, recording.
NO TITLE= what gestures make sense while tiny bodies fall? what context? what broken melody?
and then a tally and a date to mark a point on the line, the negative process, the growing pile.
the sun setting above beds of ash
while we sat together, arguing.
the old world order barely pretended to care.
this new century will be crueler still.
war is coming.
don’t give up.
pick a side.
hang on.
love.

Got the notification from bandcamp just now. My pre-order is in. Fucking stoked.
