i've softened my stance, but still think they're massively overrated. some good melodic sensibilities and a lot of fun guitarwork, songwriting is often quite repetitive, and chuck was at his peak just an OK vocalist. it's baffling to me that the cultish revisionism around his actual contribution to the genre's development (nil) has managed to survive for two decades now. that said i do still find some of their stuff fun to put on now and then!

I love everything up until Individual Thought Patterns. The stuff after that was kinda eh save for a few songs. Leprosy remains as my all time favorite Death album.

leprosy, spiritual healing, and scream bloody gore do absolutely nothing for me. the last four albums though i really enjoy. though i do dislike when bands are a revolving door for members but death did import good musicians. i wish the lineup with paul and sean lasted longer, thoes guys were far above chuck in technical ability

I never really got into Death, weirdly. The musicianship was excellent, I just can't get into Chuck's vocals.
