Lorna Shore....

I'm usually one of the first to get in line to shit on deathcore but these guys came up in my shuffle today and holy shit, I think I kind of like it.

at least their newest album and ep with Will Ramos on vocals! :greenie:

their older stuff is straight up deathcore but this newer stuff sounds like if you mashed Wintersun and Cattle Decapitation together with the requisite deathcore breakdowns and somehow....it's done really well. :bang:

(the end of this song, as the kids say, fucking slaps hard!)

the breakdown at the end of to the hell fire was trending awhile back, i think it did a lot for their popularity. didn't care for it personality, just sounded like cattle decap vocals and an overly loud breakdown

I would rather listen to nickelback, creed, Metallica, and Guns N’ Roses then whatever the fuck that is.

don't care for their early material and still am of the opinion that 99% of deathcore is absolute trash - but Pain Remains is actually a pretty good album. It'll be interesting to see where they go from here. :santa:

I can actually see the comparison here. for the record I liked this album back in the day and never understood how it got labeled as "deathcore." I think people were just butt-hurt about the whole Vehemence thing.

this is just half a dozen disparate elements of the last 2 decades of metal chucked into a blender with no rhyme or reason, with breakdowns grafted on after the fact. sonically it sounds like the really overwrought early 2000s dimmu borgir production. i wouldn't say metal is dead, but if its future is this patchwork pastiche approach which does nothing but simulate novelty, it certainly isn't bright

this fuckin' sucks

I either forgot that most of them were in this band or I just never gave a shit to even see who was involved.
