I have a love / hate relationship with this era of Amorphis

i still come back to tuonela/am universam every few years and still enjoy them. i'm not so sure they're great albums exactly, but they still work for me. the big difference between now and say 20 odd years ago is i can recognize pasi wasn't really that good of a clean vocalist. which isn't to say he was bad or that i dislike it now, but i think he was mostly able to skate by because he only had to impress metal fans
