With all the mp3s that I've downloaded since 1998/1999-ish, I can't justify using Spotify. I pretty much have all the 80s/90s hits that I love and aside from a few metal and electronic releases from the 2000s onwards, that's really all I listen to so I really don't need an online music streaming service of any sort. If I see something new that I like, I look for an mp3(s) of that or if I can't find one, I use a Youtube-to-mp3 converter of some sort.

has a few quirks i do not like but hopefully they get ironed out eventually

the quirks are basically the paucity of functionality. so if a new streaming service incorporates the functions i desire, i will simply switch. with that said, spotify is still rolling out new features, like it finally brought a button to show you the lyrics to every song you listen to, that took them ages but they did it eventually

I got rid of Spotify yesterday and signed up to Youtube Premium. So far Youtube Music's selection is comparable to Spotify. I get the added benefit of watching videos without ads though.
