This is a genre I've always struggled with, some good stuff but also some that is a little too flashy or over the top for me I guess

Obvious band is obvious but I love this song

it can certainly be hit or miss for sure. the straight up keyboard / synth stuff can be good when it's done tastefully but often times it comes off as a bit cheesy.

most bands that stick to the more orchestral side of things are excellent though.

early dimmu wins the most in this field

on the cusp of 2000, it's allowed since it still embraced that 90's sound

hard to choose just 1 from their 90's arsenal but figure I'd post one other than MITS

not a style that's really held my attention after its moment passed, that's fine
