What do you all think of said band? I've been slowly getting into them and I think that they're a pretty good band. My friends are fucking crazy for them lately.

They're pretty similar indeed. But I've been leaning more towards Insomnium lately over them. But their older stuff seems to be more melodic death.

To be quite honest Swallow The Sun is pretty fas away of being Insomnium type.
