"Axe to Fall" and "Darkhorse"



Check out that lead in Darkhorse. And I believe I detect a much stronger d-beat presence ::::::

i've listened to both a whole bunch (dark horse more of course since that's been up for a while now). i didn't really dig 'em all that much from the get-go but i've re-listened a dozen odd times so i guess that says something right there. at first listen i got the feeling they were focusing a little too heavily on the technical side of things, but i've really warmed up to it. i'm very much looking forward to this release, hell i might even pre-order it.



also on a somewhat related note, it makes me kind of sad that they're opening for a cartoon band :(



good opportunity for exposure, of course, but it's nonetheless a disheartening sign that a johnny-come-lately joke band who's contributed pretty much nothing worthwhile to anything, is getting top billing on national tours.

I think any overt displays of technicality are more just intended to create a wall of noise. It's like The Angelic Process played at punk speeds.
