A fellating lover of mine, that played in a black metal occult band called KHEPRA, played a gig supporting IMMORTAL during "Battles in the north " period. He told me that they are probably the worst fucking snob bastards he ever met in his life.

Your fucking lucky considering the fact that The Gathering comes from your part of the land. The thing that sucks about me is that the bands I really want to see live are for the most part broken up, or will never ever step foot in Florida.

Like emperor! they were supposed to play in St Pete years ago and instead bailed the day of because they didn't feel like making the drive.

Rhinos av reminds me of how much i'd like to see primordial again. They were the first metal band I saw with MA way back. I thought they were shit then but I now know better :xx:

Ive never seen Amon Amarth that would be great.

i saw the gathering on their Home tour which was fucking amazing. i saw iron maiden last summer and was still the best show i've ever seen. i'd love to see them both again. i'd also love to see king diamond since the only time i saw them, i was passed out for half of the set. there are a couple of bands that tour here often enough to see, but i've sarded, but still maintain a desire to see if it is convenient and those are in flames (cuz i'm gay), gojira, soulfly, and probably others that slip my mind right now.

Yeah, i saw Iron Maiden too, in Budapest- fucking excellent show.

As much as i like(d) In Flames, Live they are shit, they dont care about the classics. Its all about the newer material.

(Ironically, their live CD pwns)

i saw in flames once before they took a really sharp nosedive, it was on the colony tour with moonspell and uh... i can't remember who else. it would've been a great show, but the power for the venue kept cutting off -- they didn't have enough juice to run two gigs simultaneously, the lower, larger floor was hosting college dance party night at the same time :frown:

Mercyful Fate back in the day. That is my dream show.

or the Venom, Slayer, Exodus, Possessed tour. that is too much. This is one of the first things I would do with a time machine.

anyone who digs on some post-rock stuff would be doing themselves a tremendous disservice by missing this band on tour. their material takes on a whole new dimension in a live setting -- the dynamics are really exaggerated (in both directions) to amazing effect. they played mogwai fear satan second to last before the encore break, and i swear it was probably the heaviest thing i've ever seen. the loud parts gradually built into a towering wall of sound, it had so much force behind it, it seemed at its peak it was almost enough to knock you over. sounded like the end of the fucking world, no lie.

also, major points for them taking a light-hearted shot at the locals:

"are there any hippies out there?"

(tons of hands go up, cheering, etc.)

"wow. this place is like salem's lot, only for hippies instead of vampires. the vietnam war is over now! you can go back to normal!"
