I'm not a fan of Marco's click-blasting technique but this video is win for me. Lots of gravity-blasting goodness. The original version of this song is terrible compared to this version me thinks.

It's actually far far eaiser to do that than 'true' blastbeating, atleast n terms of the snare hand.

You just hit the drum with the stick tip then carry on moving the stick down until it hits the drum rim and forces the tip end back up and repeat. You cn do it with a pen on the edge of your desk.

I think there are a few different names for that blast but I've always known it as a Gravity-Blast. I'm not even sure if you could match the speed of the with a traditional blasting technique

So it's kind of cheating?

I wouldn't call it cheating, It's just another type of blasting. If you tried to do it slow you wouldn't get much power out of it and it would probably sound like crap. I've only seen it used for extremely fast blasting.

There used to be videos of some french dude doing a demonstration of his technique, he wasn't a metal drummer and used it to add in lots off little snappy drums hits, kind of military-ish, he was calling it a gravity roll I think... so its definitely got it's uses outside extreme music.

And yeah, Zim's got it, I didn't intend to make it sound like it is cheating, it's just another technique.
