MABB v6.6.6

My inspiration for this thread is Nachtmystium's Assassins: Black Meddle Part I .



I couldn't stand this album for awhile. On a whim this evening, I decided to give it one more shot and now find myself enjoying it. Also, I really hated King Diamond/Mercyful Fate right up until a couple of years ago.





I'm sure this thread has probably been done a bunch of times before but, whatever. Humor me.

Thanks for bumping this and thanks to the rest of you pizza burgers for ignoring a thread that has the potential to be awesome.

i've seriously been trying hard to think of an example and i can't come up with anything. it only seems to work the other way around for me

didn't like any harsh vocals at all at one time. then it just clicked with me.



and btw assassins is an amazing album imoafaik

i wanted to reply but thought a wandering chicken would be better first.



Iron Maiden - hated them til about 5 years ago, just couldn't get it - this is considered a crime amongst the english heavy metal fraternity and i bore many years of suffering for it.

when I first got Abigor's "Invoke The Dark Age" I didn't like it, but i love it now

assassins is great



i too didnt like fate or king until i'd say about 5 years ago, i used to make fun of my fellating lover for listening to him, now i'm a big fan

Didn't care for Reverend Bizarre's Crush the Insects upon its release. Now I find it most enjoyable.

in my opinion as far as I know



basically I'm saying assassins is a great album. a lot of people shit on it because of various reasons (oh, it's not pure black metal. oh, blake is shitting on black metal fans. oh, there's sax on it. oh, they're going off into psych rock territory. etc etc etc) but I know for a fact I don't have a single album like it in my collection, and it's got great songs on it and great playing.
