This.

I personally see it as a red flag whenever newer bands these days try or claim to be ‘melodic’. More often than not, they just end up recycling the same At The Gates / old In Flames riffs. Then if they go the symphony/orchestra route, they end up as a really bad 90s Dimmu Borgir/90s Cradle of Filth clone.
