archetype vs mechanize

since these 2 are both epic power houses, and both well recieved come back albums

i pick mechanize, i havent been this giddy about a cd in a long time. archetype was really good, and it contained some of burts best clean vocals but its just lacking in dinos riffing (obviosly), rhys fulbers touch, and the lyrics got kinda gay

Mechanize...with the current FF lineup (c'mon, that's fucking Gene Hoglan behind the kit!), it's almost impossible that they'll make a bad record.

Ryan this new album is atrocious. It's metalcore to the core. The new crash test song is awful.

despite your opinion on this band and album, it has been getting great reviews, it has pleased alot of old school FF fans like myself, and i hope they make atleast one more album with this killer line up :)

I have to agree, Ern.

It's facking stale and boring as sin. How are you people listening to this shit? Burts vocals SOUND good, but the melodies all bleed into one, it's entirely forgetable. Most of it is obvious rehashes from Demanufacture, there is even one song that is pretty much a duplicate of Body Hammer... and the parts that are 'new' for Fear Factory doesn't even sound like Fear Factory, more like left over 'Divine Heresy' riffs.

I wouldn't be so pissed and negative about it if it actually lived up to what Burton and Dino were making it out to sound like, something like 'cold and totally mechanical' which it really isn't. And the fact fanboys are hailing it as awesome. It doesn't sound harsh and cold and the songs and writing are more human than ever with the stupid guitar solos and stuff. SOLO = :shake:

The one redeeming thing about the album imo is the fact it came after Transgression, which was the worst cd from an established signed metal band of 10+ years ever released. That CD is horrendously bad in every way, so if Mechanize is there last, then at least they will go out on an album that isn't 100% disgraceful.
