It's weird, my brain was saying that, but I actually laughed out loud! Now I understand the Combi dude's statement about them wanting to hear their music on the dance floor. I heard some of the Combichrist stuff recently and it's better than this.



The thing that weirds me out (other than the fact that it's dance music) is that it sounds like Evil D's vocal phrasing is trying to follow along with a repetitive (dance?) beat. Like that mi-se-rab-ly that evidently must follow a 1 2 3 4 beat. I keep thinking "pump up the jam, pump it up" when I hear it (sorry, kind of an old reference...something that, as someone said, was on the radio in the demo days.



I mean who knows...maybe they'll gain some fans in the electro world as a result. I've no objection to them making more money after all this time. But I don't know shit about techno...some folks that seem to be more familiar (Void?) have implied that Trey's DJ stuff is really boring even given the style.

Destructos won't play anymore

"Nevermore" seems to have pretty good production--doesn't sound like a demo ala Heretic.

After countless listens via shit youtube clips, I didn't really think I liked Nevermore; in fact I kinda really disliked it. It had up until today come to represent my frustration w/all that has been wrong w/this band these past few years.......what I percieved as a lack of interest and/or effort on Trey's part, David's "Death Metal Hulk Hogan" persona, the stale setlist, the brutally long wait for I (suplemented by DV's annual NAMM proclamations), the Pete situation, the Decibal shots, etc., etc. In the abscence of anything else, what else could I associate it all with?



It's funny; I don't know what to say besides the album clip sounds fuckin' awesome. Since 07 - 08 I've planting enough face palms on count of this band I should have a hole in my skull. It's nice to be pleasantly surprised for a change.



The sonics on this album are gonna be solid.

As goofy as this sample is, the more I listen to it, the more I like it. I'm starting to feel more and more confident that this is going to be a really cool album.

About the music of the remix: It's not Morbid Angel as it should be, but I must admit that I don't think it's that bad at all. Unlike Trey's DJ stuff, it's not annoying and it's simple: it reminds me of a more 'further taken' remix of the Laibach industrial remixes but not at all as extreme as the Fear Factory remixes.

I've listened to the remix again and it's rubbish. It sounds like something with the entire low-end filtered out.

I was basing my judgment entirely in comparison to the Nevermore sample i had just listened to which sounded much fuller.

Those remix vox certainly have a GoE thing happening. Overall Destructos reminds me of Fear Factory's Remanufacture album, so if you like this shit than by all means.....



I'm surprised by how light it is, for lack of a better word. This is hardly the "serious, artistic stuff" I imagined Trey was talking about, but my knowlege of techno is both limited and outdated. On a positive note, those lyrics were pretty entertaining and so long as Trey comes off a little less Buffalo Bill and not as "gothy" in his sound than does Combichrist I'll look forward to hearing the LP mix. I would prefer, however, that Death Metal artists wishing to produce electronic music would realize that vocals, let alone traditional verses and such, have no place in techno music.

That being said, I will concede the artists you reference above qualify as "electronic" music. I get that, but my point of reference verus yours is a matter of apples and oranges as far as genres are concerned.



I'm just sayin, dropping verses and choruses over a generic 808 track, which pretty much covers the spectrum of Metal - Industrial crossover thus far - doesn't strike me as being incredibly creative. It's fairly "in the box" and I'm optimistically hoping for a little more effort on the LP, that's all.

David growl and screams are amazing imo. I also think he has a very cool voice also when he speak. Very baritonal and deep.
