This stuff was pretty recently uploaded. The quality is not superb but still, it's Morbid!

Anybody who watches to the end gets unique Morbid trivia.

Wasn't death angel here too? Along with like a shitload of other famous death metal bands.

Fatal played. Nuclear Death played. Baphomet played. Deceased played.

Morbid headlined. I think there was a co-headliner but it wasn't Death Angel - was it Forbidden?

That may be true. But on further recollection, it was Sacrifice.

The whole festival can be downloaded @ the Lockjaw-yappy blog site. Nuclear Death footage is highly recommended because they don't come that unhinged and classic anymore. Fatal was awesome too. The Morbid show includes an early version of Blessed Are the Sick from about a year before that album was released. They were calling it "Killing All." Which was gay.

I've talked to Joel Whitfield from Nuclear Death about this show and he said it was one of the best he ever played. He said the sound and atmosphere was perfect. H also told me that he found out afterwards that MA had invited him to drum with them but his bandmates hadn't told him.

How's that now?

Under what circumstances does Blessed-era Morbid ask someone to drum w/them? And why, hypothetically, do they ask his band mates?

I wondered a similar thing when he mentioned it. I expect it was just as a guest for one song...

Cool video by the way. I wonder how many people headbanging along to that track during that show then accused MA of being sellouts when Blessed came out...

I've got the audio of this show, which I don't think is from the same source as the video (though it's of similar quality) - you can clearly hear someone say the new tune "sucks" just before they play it. I'd have only agreed insofar as "Killing All" is pretty weak even for a working title.

I don't get the criticisms of that album, particularly those concerning the songwriting being too commercial or whatever.

As for the Nuclear Death/Joel Whitfield thing - I recall David V being quite taken w/ND that day..he watched their whole set from the floor and dedicated "Damnation" to them that night as well.
