Coming July 2009 - Blessed Are The Sick - Dual Disc - reissued in a deluxe Digipack complete with a bonus 1 hour documentary chronicling the making of the classic second album and Morbid Angel's impact on the worldwide metal scene.
this was posted on Earache Records Youtube page yesterday.

5$ says MA are getting back with Earache.
This is pretty cool, I wonder if they'll do dual disc rereleases for all the albums, they already did it with Altars. I hope the documentary doesn't just have the clips we've all seen on the internet though.

Ok that's nice, also for Earache to get some extra cash... I just indeed hope that the bonus material won't be stuff we've all seen on the internet. That would be totally lame...

footage from inside the studio during the recording process would be extremely jizztastic.

They should do this.

I'd rather have one dvd with everything. Already got 2 AOM cd's because the second one came with the live concert.
Eager to find out what's on the extra disc though

I think they could possibly find any footage from the Dave era that isn't on youtube... Roadie/studio/jam vids from the F, G, and H might be a different story though.

I'd really like to see more stuff from their days with Steve.

Didn't that hard-on bearer on the Earache forum answer a post once where he said there's tons of footage lying around?
With the way Dave is almost denying the whole F-H era I'd be surprised to see a lot of Steve which would be a pity. Steve would deserve alot more than that.

I agree Steve deserves more than that (if this is the case), he had a huge impact on the way Morbid sounded during those days... lyrically, musically and their image was so different. It's still one of my favorite history of a metal band.

A documentary disc?
Why not -also- a videoconcert from that era?
I offered Earache the San Antonio show since it's the best bootleg from that tour and totally slays, but they choose this..hmm hopefully unknown footage..

meh
i hate how we have to (well, we don't really have to) buy all those reissues in the hope of something new has been added, just like with this BATS dvd. And now the picturedisc LP... c'mon. If the dvd won't have anything new on it that we haven't seen on youtube already, it would be fucking lame.

According to Encyclopaedia Metallum there's only 1500 copies.
Also re-released July 2009 as i) a limited edition (1500 copies) picture disc
and ii) a "deluxe multi-panel digipack" dual-disc with the title track promo
video and a bonus documentary about the recording of the album as well as a
sweep over the band's career.

I find that very hard to believe since I think these re-issues are just one way for Earache to cash more with the name Morbid Angel.

Maybe I'll buy it some years later, if it is still available. I've bought recently BATS album reissued at 2002.

already paid for this album twice over directly. taking a pass on this go-around, as i'm pretty well confident that not a dime of my purchase will go toward the MA coffers.
i'll happily support MA by buying tickets and merch any and every time they come within 50 miles of me, at least i can be confident they're probably getting some cash in those instances. these endless rehashes are nothing more than earache flogging their back-catalogue for every last penny they can extract, all the while contributing nothing but the efforts of maybe a couple minimum wage interns, who themselves have probably been duped into thinking they're actually acting in the interests of the band.
tl;dr, fuck earache and all of their associates.

It is pretty ok.
People around the band from that era discuss the making, touring and ideas behind blessed. Only David is in the docu though... no Trey or Pete.
And a lot (everything) of the (very little) live shots are youtube material. It is worth a watch though.
Packaging looks very nice.

I must say that te packaging is very luxurious; well worthy of this immortal classick!!
The dvd is just an interview with several people involved and contains some nice info, but nothing more.
It should've contained the San antonio gig from that tour since it's the best recording I've seen from that era with the best version of Dead shall rise I've ever seen/heard!!

I think everyone here feels the exact same It's fucking ridiculous that they ignore all that material and there's no excuse for it. Dave said they wanted to focus on new material which is a crock of shit. He would be the only one that really has to learn anything and it's not like MA's bass line are crazy technical at all. If Thor doesn't already know all those songs I don't think it would take him anytime to master them.
When I first heard Formulas and Gateways I thought I was going to be impotent afterward, honestly. I'm really upset myself that they aren't playing any of those songs
and
I'm kinda indifferent to Nothing Is Not; yeah i like it, but its not earth-shattering the way just about every other song on that CD is.
For me that was the most earth-shattering song on the album.

Yo Gumbo, they played every song from Formulas live.
Even Chambers of Dis (2004 Heretic tour) and Invocation (1998/'99 tour), but all with Steve ofcourse.
Other than that, I agree that it sucks they're not playing any F-H material live with Dave... maybe in the future?
