I remember seeing a pic on here (forget if it was 2.0 etc) of Trey's recording setup with the fan in front of the amp/mic - probably F or G era.



Can anyone find the thread or has the pic?

Where on which songs can these effects actually be heard?



I'm a bit sceptical about these effects, the ideas sound ingenious, but a lot of people agree on the sound of Heretic to be lacking..

i think on the original posting of the pic, trey mentioned what songs some of these techniques were used in. i'm pretty sure he said solo's on heretic.

You can hear what sounds like a fan after the guitar stops on a couple pre-Heretic leads on Love of Lava.

a lot of the solos on F had them - well I can hear the fan whirring on the lavas

I've recorded one of my solos for the new album of my band with the fan technique: I've used 2 amps with different effects on each to record my solos in stereo, and I've put a fan in front of one amp and it sounds good !!
