I really liked the syncopated cymbal parts that Tim does in Blasphemy. I still find David's introductions very cheesy and awkward.

What do you mean with syncopated cymbal parts? What he does at 3.00?

I think it doesn't belong there and disbalances the attention focus on that part.

Other than that, I must admist that Tim drums a lot better then Pete. I'd like to hear him perform the groove in Lions Den properly. :bang:

It's in the parts "Do what thou whilt shall be the whole of the law, rebel against the church..."

also, Trey's riffing is spot on! Maybe his soloing has gone down hill a couple of times but the songs are fucking tight. Other than David, I'm really enjoying this again, which is something I didn't entirely expect.

And I don't think Tim is necessarily a better drummer than Pete, he's just a very different drummer. Sure, he can pull off things that Pete can't but I just think Sandoval's way of drumming and feeling fits MA perfectly. The way he does his snare rolls in songs like Blasphemy, after each blastbeat in the main riff. Those little things are what fits those songs so nicely and glues the whole thing together. I love Tim's drumming and it's a blast to see him play, but on other parts I do miss Commando.

Ah I thought so. I'm not into these parts though: it goes against the vibe of the song imo.

I agree with you that Pete has his great distinctive style, but as Pete needs to work for it which makes it sound more exciting, Tim does it all with audible ease (that's why he can also add stuff) which makes it more tight but also a bit safe sounding.

Agree 100% on those cymbal parts. Tim is good, although I didn't enjoy his playing on the record so much.

David blows. There's no real fire in the live show any more. They are playing the songs competently...but that's about it. I don't see any of the intensity.
