in response to this:
1) which songs would you really like to see added to or kept in the morbid angel idi tour setlist. whats the stuff they aint played in years and you want to hear it like woah. everyone gets ten votes.
2) why
vote. then discuss. but first vote. you can change your votes if you want to

i checked the most songs from the David era since I don't think it will please my ears that much to hear him sing some of the Steve songs...
just voted for songs that I never saw them play live and a few of Steve's time that I just really want to hear again.

Visions from the dark side
Brainstorm
Vengeance is mine
Prayer of Hatred
Nothing is Not
Chamber of Dis
At one with nothing
Opening of the gates
Enshrined by Grace
Within thy enemy
I picked songs mainly because they are some of my favourites. But I also picked F - H songs based on what I can see David playing that suit his style more. As well as them being some of my favourites from those albums too.
[note] Nothing is not should replace Where the slime live

Nah, they're too extreme for a live show. I guess that's why they aren't playing the "I'll Dive InSomeAnus" stuff

i'm guessing at least a few people missed punchy's offer to take the results directly to the band to see what they thought of 'em
perhaps we need to begin some sort of ad campaign

Nothing Is Not has the most votes in this period. That song is so fucking massive and crushing and heavy and fucking awesome.

I've loved the live versions I've heard. It should always be a live staple.

So far, the setlists are looking good.
I only fear for Disco D being unable to deliver the outstanding quality that Steve gave on each of his performances.

Basically I'd like to see a setlist where they don't play any of the songs that they have been playing since 2005.
Now THAT would be something new!

I'm just happy to see Brainstorm doing well. That song is 2 minutes and 35 seconds of amazingly concise godliness. If they play it live, they should bring Brunelle up on stage to do his lead instead of Thor, though.

since punchy apparently left us because he thought word chili cheese fries were mods editing his posts, it now seems doubtful that this poll will get to anyone remotely close to the band. as of de-announcifying, the leaders are:
nothing is not (19)
brainstorm (14)
suffocation (10)
the ancient ones (10)
invocation of the continual one (10)
prayer of hatred (9)
covenant of death (9)
kawazu + summoning redemption (9)
intro + fall from grace (8)
the lion's den (8)
heaving earth (8)
chambers of dis (8)
whole bunch more with 7 votes

well, i'm sure it was an enjoyable show... but if the only deviations they're making from the greatest hits setlist are for new songs, i'll pass. not that they're in any danger of playing anywhere near here at any point in the foreseeable future
