"are you morbid...morbid...morbid......."

No but i feel Morbidly sick right now :homework:

Actually it's a decent enough performance and played slightly faster made it sound better. Which can tend to really help slow songs like this one. Guitar tone was good too. There's a tiny Gateways sound to this song in some parts which sound nice. I have a feeling that all the songs from Illud will sound a lot better live as Davids vocals sit a bit further back and let the music come forth a bit. . For someone like myself who can't even stand the death metal tracks on this album because of the vocals this could be very good thing.

I always picked your avatar as character in Ultimate Mortal Kombat. Later I realized Noob Saibot was better and more morbid. :fonz:

Noob saibot is for Noobs who have to have a move to render their opponent incapable of blocking, and a combo that is kick kick kick kick in order to win :redneck:

not giving a shit about gods or governments is what it means to be...morbid?

someone really needs to look up the definition of the word morbid

According to a crappy dictionary I just looked at it means "unduly interested in death or unpleasant events; gruesome"

Back in 1986 maybe

back in 1986 maybe...

...morbid angel could have gotten away with a song like i am morbid?

..."morbid" meant not giving a shit about what gods or governments think?

...david vincent daydreamed about one day being able to douche himself in front of a crowd of swedes?

answers are needed

Sorry I didn't write it properly. Yeah I'm agreeing with you. Back in 1986 MA could have been interested in death and blah blah is what I meant.

well at least they had the decency to speed it up, thus reducing the amount of time the audience had to suffer through that awful, awful song.

Well then, members of the crowd chanting and enjoying this must indeed be morbid.

David "saving" Morbid Angel may possibly have been like when a family member cannot let go to a loved one who has had a debilitating brain injury so they refuse the DNR. Then shit goes down and now the loved one is intubated, on life support, and brain dead; all the intangible substance that you once used to identify them as their self is gone and just the shell remains. Sure, the organs keep plugging along and technically they are still alive, but they aren't really there, y'know?

GoE probably is one of my least favorite MA songs, but i'd happily take it over anything from the I album.

I think this songs comes off well live, but it seems like D kinda felt desperate to get the "morbid" chant going....Which can be forgiven as it was the first time this song was played live.

Also, I love the song, but I think the self referencing lyrics are pretty goofy. :santa:

i was thinking about it some more and i GUESS what vincent was trying to say with that flaccid excuse for a speech is that morbid angel itself stands for that kind of seventh grade anti-authority message? and so he's not saying "morbid" means "do for yourself" as much as he's saying morbid angel does?

but then the song i am morbid is still nothing more than self-aggrandizing tripe (on the level of manowar as stormy pointed out) and isn't particularly inspiring
