As a Floridan I'm kinda greedy with this idea, but I would LOOOOOOVE to see them do a "one off show" of songs they NEVER PLAY live, play NONE of the classics/hits, only stuff that flys under the radar or they dropped from the standard setlist years ago.

That way they could also throw in the F-H songs and see which ones go over better live and how the bands feels about playing them.

YES someone is. I created this thread and someone changed the title of it, NOT ME. It was originally just "Who Controls MA (if I spell it out it auto changes to the 2 words above)? You Decide......"

Also I noticed a few days ago, every post on the forum had words like cantelope and tons of other gibberish. clearly someone hacked into the site and made wholesale changes to the code so certain words always were changed to different things.

those are called word chili cheese fries and they are not anything malicious. they are an expression of ridiculous fun. most boards have them and we use them to be goofy. which is why "an.gel" becomes "downward ascending thing." everyone needs to chill the fuck out, for reals.

It can be very strange for newcomers to see their words changed on their posts. I remember when I wrote "ex plained" in one of my earliest posts and it was changed to "tutored him in righteousness". I was alarmed and quickly assumed someone edited my post. I know we have fun here and I personally find Disco D a funny one, but people have different senses of humor and varying degrees of loyalty to something. Poking fun at something they hold dear (in this case MA) isn't a funny bone we all share.

2. There are word chili cheese fries even for the fucking bandname itself.

3. The inside source is gone because of these word chili cheese fries.

the loss of inside info sucks, but we've thrived and survived in its absence for nearly ten years. i don't care who you are, you don't get to come into an established community and just demand it changes its traditions and practices and quirks simply because you don't get the joke, or perceive the joke as a deliberate attack despite multiple explanations indicating otherwise.

That said, my argument is that this has never been a forum that tailors itself to any potential whims of the band and its associates. It's not an official forum for a reason. The chili cheese fries weren't a problem until this bit with Punchy and everyone was filled with righteous indignation (oddly enough the opposite of everyone's reactions when Richard Brunelle reacted to the chili cheese fries).

I saw the word filters that day and chuckled a little, but didn't expect that anybody would overreact like Punchy did. It's understandable, though - if someone wasn't familiar with the board, I could see how they might misunderstand. I gotta be honest - it was pretty cool to have actual information regarding the band's activities instead of the guesswork that's gone on for a long time. I didn't agree with all of Punchy's posts, but the technical info on some of the recording stuff (like "Heretic") was really awesome. Is anyone in touch with him and can explain the situation so he'll maybe come back?

Anyway, maybe The Chapel isn't the best place for the word filters. Just sayin'.
