Tchernobog is indeed the continuation of this, where the focus was placed on Multiplayer.

i was looking for a quality of life mod for diablo 1 recently (resolution, etc) but all i could find were big overhaul mods

Then play Belzebub. It has better quality of life, hd, etc but true to the original plus new content. Or check out The Hell II.

I miss this game so much. I maxed out every class until I couldnt get any experience on HELL
