Most Irish people don't even have Irish accents.

 American teen dramas have a lot to answer for. It's all 'Like' and 'whatever'.

Especially here in south county Dublin. People regard my country accent as a novelty. wanklets.

What is an Irish accent then? If not the accent of an Irish person?

And accent is different from vocabulary.

Are you metabolically bisturbile? You sound metabolically bisturbile.

Well, in a sort of wrap-up to this, a female of our species talked me into seeing this Robin Hood movie. And in all honesty, I cannot decide whether or not spending two and a half hours to find out something could SUCK DICK ON SUCK A FUCKING GRANDIOSE PLATFORM was worth the lesson. Dude, I grew up with Robin Hood, I watched the Errol Flynn version probably about 2000 times.

This version? For one, he's not even called Robin Hood. Two, he shoots a bow and arrow a grand total of three fucking times in the entire fucking movie. The rest of the time he spends drifting in and out of an Irish accent while walking around some fucking town. Three, the casting is fucking retarded, especially casting Cate Blanchett as Maid Marion; how do you expect me to believe that someone who played Queen Elizabeth could be "Maid" anything? Little John was interesting, but entirely given too little attention. Russell Crowe is also about 15 years too old to be Robin Hood. Four, it follows several of the worst cliches I can think of, foremost among them being the part where the strong female lead, albeit without a lick of combat training decides to put on a suit of chain mail (weighing more than she does) and rides off to participate in the main battle. :fuckoff:

From the ad I decided not to watch it.

I suspected it would be a like a shit version of Gladiator.

Re: Russell Crowe

by Haunty
Yeah, but it wasn't even up to par with being a shit version of gladiator. It's more like a shit version of Braveheart, with none of the battle scenes. The only conflict is about two minutes at the beginning and about 5 at the end. I would've gone just to see cool bow 'n arrow action, BUT HE FUCKING DOESN'T SHOOT ONE BUT THREE TIMES.

Re: Russell Crowe

And I've seen one of those three arrow shots from the trailer!

Been a long ass time since I've seen Gladiator. And even longer since I've seen Braveheart. Not sure I'll enjoy them as much as I did when I was younger. ALthough: FREEEEEEEEEEEEDDDDDDDDDDDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!

You just can't write that shit.

My father took me to see Braveheart at a dollar movie theater. I may have fallen asleep shortly after the beginning, but remember watching the end.

Did you just miss the part where I told you it's shit? It's shit as an action movie, it's shit as a love story, it's shit as really any genre. But feel free to see it, just don't say I didn't tell you that you'll beg for those 2.5 hours back. :santa:

I think he skipped over it for the part where he watches it himself and makes his own judgment.

no personal judgment is necessary with a movie this bad. fuck, i haven't even seen a commercial for it let alone the movie, and i hate it, so there you go. none of that spending money or wasting time is necessary.

He seemed extremely optimistic, which leads me to believe he's going to get his hopes dashed. Sue me for trying to save the hard-on bearer. I grew up on Robin Hood, and this is in fact so bad that it actually hurts my feelings. I wouldn't want another man to be in the same boat.

Anyway, why don't you go see it and tell me what you think. I'm extremely easy to please when it comes to movies. I like nearly everything. This is literally the first time in my life that I've not found one single good thing about a movie. If you come out not hating it, I'll shut my mouth. And just to be sure, watch it with the Errol Flynn version. If you can see the original and then come back and not want to firebomb something because of this movie, then... I just don't know. :santa:

It still amazes me how far technology and film making have come, and yet we still can't beat a Robin Hood movie that was made in the 30's. Errol Flynn :xx: :xx: :xx:

This one knows. Mel Brooks is the king. I know people don't like his work in the 80's and 90's. I think it's still funny stuff.

I used to watch the Disney one when I was younger.

Can't remember much about it though.
