holiday in cambodia

probably not before my flight, which is in several hours. but the lads are coming here to rendezvous beforehand and smash up a taxi. we will get drunk and play settles of catan before attending the airport.



also some of my best memories were from a holiday in cambodia but not THE holiday in cambodia.

i imagine it's pretty awesome living in aus and being that close to that part of the world aye

it is true that being so close to asia is excellent but in general australia is far from most other places. we get cheap flights to pacific islands and east asia, everything else is a bitch to get to, i.e. U.S., south america, europe, africa

i like taking holidays, i spend lots of money on travel and will probably never buy a house until i change that. but, experiences > security for now, until i turn maybe ... 30 ... or 35

Correct. I've gotten almost everywhere I want to go that's within an 8 hour drive. Starting to get to the point that flying or more time off is needed for the driving.

i'm saving for a trip to houston in september that is literally going to break me but it will be a good time so it will be worth it but still

Going up to buffalo in a few weeks. Ive been talking to the wife about going somewhere new for my birthday this year just can't figure out where.

i dont know about holidays, but vacations are pretty badass even though i havent had one in 4 years

I usually plan any trips around holidays so I get the extra day off

I'm taking a week off in June. I set money aside to compensate for the loss of pay. A few days of this will be spent in the mountains with MiniAbzu fishing, swimming, hiking, helping MiniAbzu practice his kata, and throwing my ax into logs.

I didn't do much travelling, but that was my general philosophy in my twenties as well. That is the correct way.

it has never been my philosophy, i never liked travel too much. lately i have taken a 180 degree turn where that opinion is concerned

One good thing about living up here is that you can travel to a ton of different states within a few hours

I held the experiences part of the philosophy, not the travel bit.

Which according to a whole bunch of "experts" is way too late to get a good/early retirement plan. Probably mostly in the US and some countries that are well on their way to eliminate social services though.



Enjoy the trip. One of the appeals of Oz to me is being so close to J-land, I take it that travel to much of Asia for the typical oz is about as common as traveling to Spain is for the typical European.

it was a good holiday, i really needed the break in the routine. now i have a puppy though it is routine all the way for a while
