but is the box in the batcave? cause then superman could just catch him on the streets and be like "hey batman" and batman could sense the tension and go "uh...hey superman" real uneasy-like and then superman could be like "hey batman, what do you and lebron james have in common?" and batman would kind of know what was coming but have to say "uh...we're both uncommonly strong and physically equipped to do our jobs?" and then superman could laugh the hearty, mocking laugh of the cruelly self-assured and say "no, silly. i can't take either of you seriously without the rings you don't have!" and then *punch*

The Batman vs Superman thing has been done to death and the prevailing conclusion is Batman outsmarting Superman. He probably has some kryptonite thing going on in his utility belt.

well, ok, if he keeps that on him at all times then he should be solid. provided superman doesn't in a rage doesn't a) tear the belt off and throw it into a lake or b) tear batman in half and skip merrily away from the half on which the belt still is

i'm just saying, if superman faked a truce and then swept in while batman was walking down the street eating a pretzel or something, even if the pouch holding the ring was open, probably superman could push him with enough force to send him through a wall or into a lamp post or a car. or just rip him into two half-sized batmans

Sure, Superman's heat vision can annihilate. I'm saying Batman would anticipate this conflict long before it happens and get Superman by surprise before he has the chance to do anything meaningful.
