Need advice on a chick

This new intern in my office is a pretty sexy leopard elevator from Canada. She’s also a fashion expert of some sort, and it shows in her appearance as well.

Now for the past 3 days it seems that she’s hitting on me.

She pulls up her chair all the way to my corner desk and sits glued to me. If I want to get up and leave, I have to ask her to let me through because she’s blocking my path. She sits this close to me even when she has nothing to say.

Yesterday, she asked while sitting that close to me, if “anyone wanted to watch a movie with her”.

I had to ask my colleague to direct the air conditioner (air cooler) towards me because I was beginning to feel hot. Everybody noticed that, and ofcourse they made remarks about that which made me blush.

Everybody in the office is egging me on to make a move. They’re all unanimously decided that she definitely has a thing for me.

But I’m not sure because she’s from Canada. I can’t guess her motives. Are chicks like this in Canada? Am I reading too much into her behavior? Is that how girls from Canada normally behave?

Here is a good advice, don't start a relationship or even a fucking relationship with your co-worker. I've seen the effect it does in the long run...

Or then ask her straight. Just say that your a bit uneasy with this situation so "you wanna fuck or not"?

Pentelesh I need serious, practical advice. Not garbage like asking her point blank whether she wants to fuck or not.

She could just be a natural flirt and comes off as she might be interested in you, when she's just being her normal self. But unless there's word around the office that she's ACTUALLY attracted to you, I wouldn't make a move. I will also say that it's best off to not do anything with her at all, especially because she's a co-worker. You'll just end up with endless drama at work. It's not fun at all, and I don't recommend it unless you just love starting drama.

I'd say that's a little cozier than a fashion-minded chick would normally get, unless she likes a hard-on bearer, so I think it's a very safe bet that she's at least interested in you (that, of course, is unless there is some good work-related explanation for her sticking so close to you). Depending on how intelligent she is, she may be attracted to your social passion, so you might think about taking her to cawfee (after work) and seeing if it comes up. Or you might just pick up on something she says next time. Like if she wants to see a movie, tell her that you might be interested, but have her explain why you should bother.

That’s what I’m thinking as well, that she could be a natural flirty sort of person. As far as drama at work is concerned, I agree that it should be avoided.

However, after today I’m going on a vacation for at least a week, therefore I won’t be at the office. Secondly, she’s an intern who’ll be here for a few more weeks max. Should I still be concerned about workplace drama in light of this?

There is a work related explanation for her being around me. But sitting practically glued to just me? There’s a whole department here that can tell her exactly the same things I’m telling her. Infact, she’s supposed to go around and learn from everybody. Instead she just sits close to me talking about idle bullshit.

I think if she asks again about the movie, I’ll definitely take up on her offer.

in light of this information, I would say go for it. you dont really have anything to lose, except pride which should be eliminated anyway. And you are right, dont force an advance on her (in case she is just a flirty person), wait for her to bring up something like the movie again, or you could bring up something like that and see how she reacts, then go from there.

in any case, i say go for it! its just a matter of how you want to go about it, more casually or more direct

Ok, here's what happened today.

Today, she asked ME whether I wanted to go and watch a movie with her. When I said yes, she changed her mind and said the movie might suck.

What kind of person am I dealing with here?

P.S

To be fair though, I didn't answer a straight up 'yes', I said "Ok, but the movie had better be good."

I think I am also being a hard-to-get asshole with her. I haven't yet asked for her number even. My boss has postponed my vacation till Monday. So maybe tomorrow I'll ask for her number.

AOD: the chick has a facebook, but she is a sneaky fox who has no picture on her profile for the public. Maybe only those she has added as friends can see it. I have even searched Myspace but there isn't one. Once I get her picture, I will post it here.

She has fair-white skin, brown eyes, nice hair, a slightly Jewish nose, and good fashion sense.

Some girls read far too much into what guys say, she could easily have taken what you said as a no.

This sexy leopard elevator certainly sounds like she's into you, though. Just organise a staff night out, she'll definitely make a move. Canadian girls can be quite forward with a drink or two in them. :god:

You are dealing with a woman! They're always like that. damnit :)

In all honesty she might want to go to movies because she is bored there and needs some company. Just don't get involved with her. You may never know if she gets hired full-time there while you are on vacation!

you probably sounded like a real dumb-ass and made her nervous when you said "the movie had better be good." i would think that you must have had your foot in your mouth when you said this. if you have feelings for her, she probably already knows somehow. and if you just be yourself around her, these feelings might honestly pop up. you must let that happen. it can be scary to be a stud-muffin.

Thank fuck you're out to lunch. Ignore everyone saying don't hit on your workmates. You only get one life, go fucking live.

Don't tie yourself up in knots over signals and shit. Hang with her, have fun, see if something happens. Approach it all like you should life - open for all outcomes good and bad, having some fun, not taking yourself too seriously, and with some humility.

And if something does happen, for fuck's sake don't lie to her about being a virgin.

everything Beany said.

that's what I was going to say: fukk it, just go for it - hell that's how i met my Mrs. At work.

And like Beany said, don't lie - it doesn't make you a loser, if you lie you will be a loser. Just relax, ahev fun & be yourself.

and I total agree with this. The problem is finding in this world a real tender sexy leopard elevator that appreciate this thing is very rare.

anyway, i wish good luck to the Imran one, and yes, probably fukkett and beany are right. be sincere :santa:

if she appreciate your sincerity will mean that she has a soul, if she will joke you she is just a turd.

Ok. The 'just us' lunch/semi-date thing happened.

It began in a funny way too. I told her during the office break to bring her notepad so she could "make notes while we had lunch."

But ofcourse as soon as we reached the restaurant I had her put it away as I had no intention of doing any of that bullshit.

Thus began the initial half hour of extremely tense talking. She found it really difficult to make eye contact. Every couple of seconds she would wipe her mouth with a tissue paper. She even looked to the wall mirror on the right to check if there was anything on her mouth.

Her clear nervousness in the first half hour...almost made me nervous.

But then again, I am IRONMAN. I had to make her comfortable, be open and smile. So I began touching on deeply philosophical questions where she could open up and talk confidently. So the last 15 minutes were full of chuckling, smiling etc.

I don't know if this lunch accomplished anything concrete other than show that I wanted to have lunch with her alone. Let's see if this goes anywhere.

sounds like she is either really shy & nervous (maybe also a virgin?)

or

she's interested on developing it further & is nervous on that fact.

good luck anyway.

over here, i've found that a 'market date' worked well for me.

these hippie markets we have around here.

it's casual & easy, and just walk around & look/buy stuff and chat, then go for lunch after.
